India
Hi Everyone,
I'm fresh back from India. Ok back, but not all that fresh. I seemed to have brought back a little intestinal bug with me. Not the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last either, it's job hazard. Oh well, this to shall pass.
I partnered with Hope Foundation on this project and Sharon and Emmanuel Masa. They took great care of me, not only welcomed me into their home but into their family as well.
We managed to distribute 150 solar lanterns with help from Sanchit and Karon from Ignite who accompanied the lanterns from Delhi to the other side of India, a 36 hour train ride.
The distributions were wonderful, amazing and difficult as usual. One of the more remote areas required a 5km hike through the mountains in 90* degree heat and humidity. It was well worth the hike to reach those in need in this small remote corner of the world. The villagers were so very grateful for the gift of light the hardship we endured was soon forgotten.
Many thanks to all of you who continue to support Fifty Lanterns, you are truly changing lives around the world. -Peace to all, Linda
