Following the light to India.
A while back I received a email from Emmanuel and Sharon Masa. In their email they told me about the programs they are running in rural India supporting orphans, widows and the poor. They wanted me know about the conditions in these small villages and how our solar lanterns would make a huge difference in the lives of those most in need. Then they started to send me pictures. Photos of the 24 orphans they are caring for, photos of the small rural dirt poor villages, photos of widows and children.
In the mean time I have been gearing up for our Rwandan project and had ordered 100 lanterns to be shipped to Rwanda as soon as we were ready to go light the clinic. Delay after delay, typical when working in overseas. (now scheduled for the fall) 100 lanterns ready to go sitting in a warehouse in Dehli. Emmanuel and Sharon continued to ask for help providing for the poor, it soon became clear what needed to be done. I'm off to India the first week in June, and will be distributing 150 lanterns to rural India along with Emmanuel and Sharon and their Hope Foundation. Sometimes life just lights the path on the direction and I only need to follow the light.
